Music and Lyrics by Jason Robert Brown
Book by Dan Elish & Robert Horn

Directed by IRA SPECTOR  BIO
Music Direction by KYRSTEN HAFSO  BIO

Stage Manager: Cat Crowley

When his parents get divorced and he's forced to move from New York
to a small town in Indiana, Evan Goldman just wants to make friends
and survive the school year. Easier said than done.
The star quarterback is threatening to ruin his life
and his only friend, Patrice, won't talk to him.
The school freak sees an opportunity for blackmail
and someone is spreading the nastiest rumors.

With an unforgettable rock score
from Tony Award-winning composer Jason Robert Brown,
"13" is a hilarious, high-energy musical for all ages
about discovering that cool is where you find it,
and sometimes where you least expect it.

ART is pleased to announce that Broadway star

ALLIE TRIMM

AUDITION PREPARATION / HELPFUL INFORMATION

Schedule your audition appointment.

Prepare 16 bars (or approximately 1 minute) of a musical theatre up-tempo pop selection, bring sheet music or background CD (no vocals). An accompanist will be provided. No a capella singing. You may bring your background tracks on A CD or an iPOD device.

Your audition song should NOT be from the show, but if you are interested in a particular role, then it would be wise to be familiar with one of that character's songs, as you may be asked to sing further.

After vocal auditions, all actors will be asked to learn a dance audition. We will take small groups of actors aside, teach them a dance, and then they will return to the audition room to perform the dance number. Please bring shoes that you can dance in. You will have time to change shoes following your vocal audition.

Bring a current photo of yourself.

Bring a conflict calendar showing all conflicts between May 3 and July 25, 2010. No conflicts allowed during tech week and no missed performances.

Fill out all FORMS BEFORE arriving. FORMS in PDF FORMAT - use to fill out forms on your computer before printing. ** available soon**

Pay all production fees before you audition. If you are not cast, your check is returned immediately.

If you are under 18 years of age, your parent or guardian MUST accompany you to the audition.

Remember to smile and have fun!

IS THIS YOUR FIRST AUDITION?

Again - Remember to have fun.

The most important thing to remember is to relax. Everyone you will be singing for is happy to see you, and we want you to do great! We want you to walk out of the audition feeling that you did well and had a lot of fun doing it. And hopefully would do it again!

FAQ'S (FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS)

How many performers will we cast in "13": We will cast at least 26 - 13 principal roles, and 13 ensemble.

Will "13" be double cast? We have not made that decision. It will depend on how many people audition. We typically double cast our leads in youth productions. If we double cast, then each role that is double cast will have 5 shows each.

Actors / Band: please bring your completed forms to auditions.
You WILL NOT be allowed to audition without the paperwork filled out
and signed by an adult. For parents of minors, for insurance purposes, you must fill out and sign the RELEASE OF LIABILITY Form before your child auditions.
